Female doctor becomes AmCham Vietnam chair

The American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam has appointed doctor Dam Thi Hoang Lan, with decades of experience in healthcare, as its new chair.

Lan has taken over from Ramachandran A.S. (RamC), country officer for Citibank in Vietnam, AmCham Vietnam said in a statement Friday.

She holds degrees from Hanoi Medical University, National Economics University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, and the University of Cambridge.

Lan has 25 years of experience in healthcare with qualifications spanning bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

She has participated in many healthcare programs, contributing to policy development aimed at enhancing patient access to advanced treatments across various organizations, including the Ministry of Health.

In 2016 she joined Merck Sharp & Dohme Vietnam, a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company headquartered in the U.S. with a 130-year legacy.

Lan has been a board member of AmCham Vietnam for four consecutive years.

AmCham Vietnam is one of the largest business organizations in the country with 3,150 members comprising businesses and individuals.
