English teaching startup ELSA, known for its AI-powered pronunciation checking app, has raised US$20 million in a new funding round, according to DealStreetAsia.

Two years ago it had raised $15 million from a group of investors in a Series B round.

ELSA uses voice recognition to identify issues in a user’s pronunciation and offers solutions to correct them.

It also offers vocabulary and grammar lessons.

A one-year subscription costs from VND785,000 ($32.49), according to its website.
