The Citi Foundation has pledged $80,000 in support of UNICEF Vietnam's relief efforts following the devastation caused by typhoon Yagi, the most severe storm to hit the country in 30 years.

The grant, made through UNICEF USA, will help deliver essential aid to the thousands of families affected by the widespread flooding and landslides.

In collaboration with UNICEF, the Citi Foundation aims to provide critical assistance to those in need. The relief efforts will focus on delivering essential services such as water and sanitation, nutrition, and health care, as well as emergency education. Additionally, the initiative will offer long-term support to local governments, helping them implement sustainable recovery strategies.

Yibin Chu, Head of Community Programs, Japan, Asia North & Australia and Asia South at Citi, expressed the organization's concern for those impacted by the disaster.

"We express our deepest concern for the communities devastated by typhoon Yagi," he said. "The Citi Foundation’s grant to UNICEF USA reflects our dedication to supporting colleagues, clients, customers and local communities affected by disasters and humanitarian crises."
