Quang, 61, is back in Forbes’s real-time billionaire list with a net worth of US$1 billion as of Monday, ranking 2,717th globally.
The U.S. magazine’s data shows Quang’s net worth peaking at $1.9 billion in 2022 before falling to $1.2 billion last year.
In January he dropped off the list of Vietnam’s billionaires.
He has been in and off it since first entering it in 2019.
As of Monday Pham Nhat Vuong, chairman of conglomerate Vingroup, remained the richest person in Vietnam with a wealth of $4.1 billion.
He was followed by Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, chairwoman of budget airline Vietjet ($2.8 billion), and Tran Dinh Long, chairman of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group ($2.4 billion).
In fourth and fifth places were Ho Hung Anh, chairman of private lender Techcombank ($1.8 billion), and Tran Ba Duong, chairman of automaker Thaco ($1.3 billion).
In January most Vietnamese billionaires saw their wealth remain unchanged or decline as the stock market struggled to make gains.
The benchmark VN-Index closed Jan. 24, the last session before a nine-day Tet holiday, at 1,265.05 points, down 0.14% for the year.
