AstraZeneca Vietnam chairman appointed as UK's MBE

This was announced in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours List, which was published on June 15.

Kapoor's appointment is a recognition of his contributions to the health sector and his important role in strengthening U.K.-Vietnam friendship.

His efforts have fostered a health partnership and advanced health cooperation between the two countries, contributing to significant progress in the health sector and, above all, Vietnam's FDI.

Over the years, for his notable contributions in Vietnam, Kapoor has been awarded many prestigious awards, such as the Friendship Medal from the President and the Commemorative Medal for the Young Generation from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

These titles recognize his efforts in improving universal healthcare, supporting community initiatives, and improving the operating environment for international businesses in Vietnam.

As Chairman of AstraZeneca Vietnam, Kapoor has initiated many impactful health programs aimed at raising awareness, prevention, and early detection of chronic diseases in Vietnam, including developing the "Health Innovation Network" in partnership with the Vietnam Young Physicians' Association and the "Digital Lung Health" program, with more than 100,000 people being screened for lung disease and lung cancer for free in 2023.

In his role as Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF), Kapoor has been actively engaged in enhancing the business environment in Vietnam.

He has been a vocal advocate for regulatory reforms, simplified visa and work permit processes, and sustainable economic policies.

His efforts have contributed to creating a more favorable climate for foreign investment and business operations.

"I am deeply honored to receive this great recognition, and I am committed to continuing to promote progress in the health sector and strengthen international friendships, especially between the U.K. and Vietnam. This accolade reflects the collective efforts of my team of colleagues and partners, who have worked relentlessly towards a common goal of sustainable development," he said.

The official announcement was published in the London Gazette and a number of mainstream newspapers in the U.K. recently, marking a moment of honor for Kapoor as well as emphasizing the importance of international friendship and cooperation.
