Two Vietnamese singers, Pham Dinh Thai Ngan and Wren Evans, have been nominated at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards and Asian TV Awards.

The two were nominated after receiving the most fan votes at MTV Fan Choice 2022 earlier this month, with Ngan winning the title "Favorite Artist" and Evans' "Gap May" (Lucky) MV winning "Best Music Video".

Ngan will go up against artists from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines in the "Best Southeast Asia Act" category at MTV Europe Music Awards 2022.

The 29-year-old started his music career when competing in 2014 The X-Factor Vietnam, the Vietnamese version of the U.K.-based talent show The X-Factor. He shot to fame when lending his voice and singing the OST for blockbuster "Mat Biec" (Dreamy Eyes), which Vietnam sent to compete at the 2021 Oscars.

The "Lucky" music video by Evans (real name Le Phan) will be competing at Asian TV Awards 2022 with other submissions from China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Qatar, New Zealand, and Australia.

The MV has raked in over 4.2 million YouTube views since its official release in January.

The 21-year-old Hanoi singer began writing songs on the piano as a child. He and his two friends started a band called Jeune Homme when they were in school. He is fluent in English and French.

The MTV EMA Awards celebrate the best music of the year and the biggest artists in the world. It began in 1994 and is held in a different country every year.

Launched in 1996, Asian Television Awards recognize excellence in programming, production and performance. It has over 40 categories and attracts hundreds of entries annually.
