The Goethe-Institut Vietnam collaborated with Colors to showcase the young performer on the hit video program "A Colors Show," which is well-known on YouTube.
Vietnam’s "hip-hop queen" Suboi and vocalist My Anh also performed on Colors earlier this month.
Although Low G (real name Nguyen Hoang Long) is only 25 years old, he is already a familiar face on the Vietnamese rap scene. He’s especially popular with young listeners.
On Colors, Low G chose to play his latest hit "Thien Than Ac Quy" (Angels Demons). It’s a horrorcore rap track with dark instrumentals and conscious lyrics.
Low G said the message and story in the song "tell people to stay away from drugs, violence and other wrongdoings."
Suboi, 33, was the first Vietnamese artist to perform on Colors with her 2020 song "Best Friend".
Following Suboi, 21-year-old singer My Anh performed her R&B track "Moi Khi Anh Nhin Em" (Everytime You Look At Me).
A Colors Show has been compared to NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series for it’s simple staging and "anything goes" latitude given to artists.
Drake, Alicia Keys, 21 Savage, Ne-Yo, Gunna, Billie Eilish, Joji, and many more worldwide stars have performed on the show.
