"Whether I will have kids or not depends on whether I’m destined to do so or not," the singer said.

"But I have an extended family - with my parents, my siblings, my nieces and my nephews - so I feel happy spending time with them and do not have any further specific plans [about having children]."

Not having to take care of her own family yet, Tam said her current priorities are taking care of and spending as much time as possible with her parents.

"My parents live in [the coastal city of] Da Nang while I’m residing in HCMC," she said. "Lately I have been performing and appearing in TV shows less frequently because I want to have time to visit them every month."

Completing her responsibilities with society is another thing the pop star wants to focus on. She said she wants to help unfortunate people to have better living conditions.

"I remind myself whenever I encounter hardships that everyone is suffering in their lives," Tam said.

"Doing so helps me immediately change my attitude, as I realize how much I have in life: I’m living the way I want, I’m doing the job I am passionate about, and I’m living in a house with every facility I can ask for.

"So, what do I want more?"

The singer is also against the idea that being a public figure has made her sacrifice many things in her life. She said she did not think she had to sacrifice anything, and she feels blessed with her current life, as she has "achieved almost everything she has ever wanted to have."

"I want to say thanks to my life for giving me the chance to pursue what I wanted," she said. "And I want to say thanks to myself for working hard."

Her plans for the future are simple: she wants to be an improved version of herself. She said she wants to balance between being realistic and keeping herself sentimental, which helps her as an artist.

At the same time, she tries to avoid temptations she might face.

Talking about junior artists who consider her as their role model, Tam said she was touched. However, she never thought about setting examples for others to follow. All she has ever done was to give it all in her career. And that was also the message she wanted to convey to her fellow artists.

"As long as you live and do your job upright, your dream will soon come true," she said.

Born in Da Nang, Tam is a Vietnamese veteran singer. Throughout her career, she has been honored with various awards, including prizes at South Korea’s Mnet Asian Music Awards, the Top Asia Corporate Ball, and Big Apple Music Awards.

Her "Tri Am" live show at Hanoi’s My Dinh National Stadium last year attracted over 30,000 people.

She is also an actress and movie producer.
