"A Tourist’s Guide to Love" is the first foreign film to be shot in Vietnam since the government lifted social distancing at the end of 2021.

In the film, Amanda (Rachael Leigh Cook) has just broken up with her boyfriend before being assigned to go undercover to Vietnam aiming to research a local tour agency.

During her trip to Vietnam, she meets Sinh, a local tour guide, played by Scott Ly. The two characters gradually fall for each other.

The highly organized Amanda, who over-plans everything, lets go for the first time in her life and follows the spirited Sinh on a spontaneous and adventurous trans-Vietnam journey.

The film was directed by Steven Tsuchida, whose work includes "Resort to Love," "Dear White People," and "On My Block."
