Vietnam secure top group spot at AFF after 3-0 win over Cambodia

Vietnam will head into semifinals after winning Cambodia in Hanoi's Hang Day Stadium Saturday night.

    With this victory, Vietnam is officially qualified for semifinals and takes the top spot of group A, as in another game, Myanmar lost 3-0 to Malaysia. It's semifinal match will be on December 2, against the second-placed team from group B.

Cambodia is already out of the tournament’s next stage, having lost two matches and won only one. Vietnam, on the other hand, only needs a draw with Cambodia to qualify for the semifinal, regardless of the result of the Malaysia-Myanmar match at the same time.

Vietnam can even secure the group’s top spot if they win against Cambodia and Myanmar draws or loses to Malaysia.
