Japan scored a single goal against hosts Vietnam Thursday, marking the latter's fifth defeat in the final World Cup qualification round.

Vietnam have scored four goals and conceded 10, while Japan have scored three and conceded three.

In the three recent encounters, Vietnam suffered defeat against Japan. The Samurai Blue are 28th on FIFA world ranking, which is 70 places above Vietnam.

Playing on home stadium My Dinh, Vietnam will have the support of over 10,000 fans.
