Vietnam draw Japan in World Cup qualifiers

Vietnam concluded their journey at the 2022 World Cup qualifiers Tuesday with a surprising 1-1 draw against Japan on the latter's home ground.

Before the game, Vietnam are at the bottom of group B with one win and eight losses, while Japan are at the top and have already qualified for the 2022 World Cup with seven wins and two losses.

In the last four encounters between the two teams, Vietnam lost all of them. In the first leg last year, they lost 0-1 to Japan despite playing at home.

Many key players of Vietnam are absent in Tuesday match due to injuries and Covid-19, while Japan let many important players rest since they have already accomplished their target.
