Da Nang fans carry a replica trophy through the streets

Crowds converging on the Dragon Bridge in Hai Chau Ward showed no sign of thinning. At the intersection of 2/9, Nguyen Van Linh and Bach Dang streets, a group of young people carried a replica of the trophy and chanted "Vietnam wins" at a red light, drawing hundreds of others to join in. Some brought South Korean flags to thank the Vietnamese team's coach.

Pham Vu Le Mai, visiting Da Nang from Hanoi for the first time, said she was struck by the atmosphere. She said the crowd was fervent but still kept traffic orderly, and that she planned to stay up through the night to take it in. Traffic police were posted at major intersections to direct traffic and keep order.
