Mexico beat South Korea 1-0 to advance in World Cup Group A

Co-hosts Mexico secured their place in the knockout stage with a narrow 1-0 win over South Korea in a tense Group A encounter in Zapopan, near Guadalajara, at the atmospheric Guadalajara Stadium.

    Mexico are first team that made it past the group stage with the only goal by Luis Romo. They also secured the top spot in Group A with this victory over South Korea. Meanwhile, South Korea still have a great chance to advance, as they only need a draw against South Africa in the next match. Beautiful atmosphere at the Guadalajara Stadium as the Mexican fans sang in joy.

In the group's next round, the Czech Republic disappointed again by drawing 1-1 against South Africa, leaving the match at Guadalajara between Mexico and South Korea likely to decide the group winner and the first ticket to the Round of 32.
