Brazil started their World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against a relentless Morocco in the most anticipated match of Group C in New Jersey on Sunday.

  • 90'+10
    Final score: Brazil 1-1 Morocco

No more goals were scored in the second half, but both teams seemed content with this result. Brazil will play Haiti in the next match while Morocco face Scotland.

  • 90'+9

Morocco were so close to the winner. Neil El Aynaoui forced Alisson into a diving save with a curling shot from long range, and the Liverpool goalkeeper couldn't contain it. Ayoube Amaimouni tried to tap in the loose ball, but Alisson managed to make another save.

  • 90'+5

If the match ends in a draw, both teams can be satisfied with this result as their next matches in Group C will be against weaker opponents: Scotland and Haiti.

  • 90'

10 minutes, that's the added time for the second half. It's totally enough for both teams to find the winning goal.

  • 89'

Morocco made the final sub, with Soufiane Rahimi coming on for Saibari, who scored the opening goal for Morocco.

  • 87'

Morocco suddenly increased pressure on Brazil in the last minutes of the game, but as a way to defend their draw rather than trying to score.

  • 84'

First the ankle, then the heel, and now Bono is on the ground getting his right shoulder checked after a knock from Raphinha.

  • 79'

Two more changes for Morocco: Noussair Mazraoui and El Khannouss out for Anass Salah-Eddine and Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab, who make their World Cup debuts.

Brazil also put Danilo Santos in for Guimaraes, who provided the assist on the equalizer.

  • 78'

Vini sprinted down the left again before making a return pass for Raphinha. All that time and momentum just for the Barcelona star to finish straight into Bono, who was anticipating with his hands open.

  • 76'

The attendance at MetLife Stadium is 82,500. A sell-out to start the tournament at the location of its final.

Both Brazil and Morocco are in the top 8 of the FIFA ranking, and this clash is expected to be one of the best group stage matches in this tournament.
