Around 3:00 p.m., dark clouds gathered before heavy rain poured down Hanoi, despite the hot and sunny weather just two hours earlier. On Tran Hung Dao Street of downtown Hoan Kiem District, strong winds snapped several large tree branches, while vehicles struggled to move on Pham Van Bach and Tran Thai Tong streets in Cau Giay District as strong winds flew between tall buildings.
Do Cam Linh, an office worker in Cau Giay, said, "The wind was incredibly strong, and the rain seemed to arrive earlier than forecasted."
