The Hanoi police will secure 10 major hotels where the U.S. and North Korean delegations will stay during the Trump-Kim summit.

The hotels, whose names have not been revealed, have been approved by both countries though they have yet to choose where their respective delegations would stay, a source told VnExpress.

The police have finalized the security protocol and would make final plans once the delegations choose their hotels, the source added.

The entire police force numbering tens of thousands of officers would be deployed to maintain order and security during the summit, patrolling roads and in the vicinity of hotels, train stations and airport.

Major hotels have decorated their interiors ahead of the summit. Surrounding roads had trees trimmed, signs painted and cameras installed for beautification and security purposes.

The second Trump-Kim summit will be held in Hanoi on February 27 and 28.

The first was held in Singapore last June, but negotiations failed to achieve much owing to disagreements over the concept of denuclearization.

Both sides are hoping to make headway at the upcoming summit.
