NA election supervisors: Identify “reactionary groups” behind independent candidates
Members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) have asked the National Election Committee to clarify information regarding self-nominated candidates in Hanoi for the upcoming National Asembly who are receiving support from so-called "foreign reactionary groups".
National Assembly election process
Vietnam is in the process of selecting the 500 members for its next National Assembly (NA) for the 2016 – 2021 term. The number of officials working in centrally-run agencies and organizations to be elected to the 14th National Assembly will be 198, while the number of representatives from local governments will be 302.
