Motorcyclists caught running red lights, riding in the wrong direction, or encroaching on sidewalks (except when accessing a specific address) in Vietnam now face fines of VND4-6 million (US$157-236), a 10-fold increase from the previous penalty.

Fines for opening car doors causing accidents soar 50-fold to $860
Starting this year, individuals who open car doors or leave them open unsafely, resulting in traffic accidents, will face fines of VND20-22 million (US$785-863), marking a 36-50 fold increase compared to previous penalties.
