Torrential rain flooded Ton Duc Thang Street on Saturday morning, stalling scores of motorbikes and forcing riders to push them through floodwaters.
Typhoon Bualoi, which is heading towards central Vietnam, sent prolonged dowpours onto southern Da Nang from Friday night to midday Saturday. Numerous roads were inundated, hampering traffic.
Floodwaters up to 70 cm persisted from about 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., cutting off traffic.
Da Nang has issue flood alerts, placing agencies on 24/7 duty and activating plans to brace for Typhoon Bualoi, which is heading towards central Vietnam with winds of 103-133 km per hour, posing risks of heavy rain, flash floods, landslides and widespread inundation.
