Built on a 100-square-meter plot in Hue Town of central Thua Thien Hue Province, Tranquil House is a gift the children gave their parents. Because the house is for the elderly, the design is aimed at minimalism and convenience, providing a rustic and cozy feeling.
The first floor is 50-square-meters wide, and the mezzanine floor is 25-square-meters. The remaining ground floor area is used to plant vegetables and flowers.

The house has a traditional style expressed through a system of broken tiled roofs, ancient tiles made of clay, rectangular with typical Hue characteristics. This type of tile is light, durable, covered in many layers, providing good insulation on hot summer days. The tiles of Tranquil House are all used. The architect also reused bricks from the old house, so the elderly owner could feel at home.

To take advantage of the "view" of the front yard filled with green trees, the front of the house is designed with large sliding glass doors, ensuring a living space filled with natural light. When the air enters the facade, it will be pushed out thanks to the wooden glass louvre doors and the back side brick system.

The owner wants to have a cool house in the summer and a warm one in winter, along with ease of mobility, with two bedrooms, the living room and kitchen on the ground floor. The mezzanine only has a worship room and guest bedroom. The rooms are connected in an open-plan style.

Two bedrooms on the ground floor overlook the main courtyard of the house. A room for the owner, and a room for a daughter away from home, sometimes visiting her parents. In the girls bedroom, there is an open-air bathroom. Combined with scattered plants to create a spa space at home.

The living room, dining table and kitchen are connected to each other, running along the house. Not only does the house look spacious, but the layout of the open space also helps family members stick together. Stone materials of the kitchen, stairs ... compliment the concrete floor to create a cool feeling, and balance the wooden color of the interior so that the house is not too cold. The wooden glass louvre door system behind the house is an important purpose of the architect in taking in the wind to get light, creating air convection.

The main house faces East, so the early morning sun penetrates deeply into the living room and kitchen areas. All bedrooms have access to light and have large windows to create ventilation.
