At 9:00 p.m. on February 11, thousands of runners of VM Ho Chi Minh City Midnight Marathon gathered at the start line at Tao Dan Park.

Full marathon runners started first at midnight, followed by 5 and 10-km runners. Finally, at 1:15 a.m., half marathon runners took to the track.
Runners passed by city landmarks like Bach Dang Wharf, Thu Thiem Bridge, Ba Son Bridge, Independence Palace, and the City People's Committee.
Ton Duc Thang Street is still crowded past midnight.
Parts of the roads were closed to traffic to give way to runners, and vehicles followed the direction of the police and race crew to take alternate routes.
Nguyen Hue pedestrian street is lit up all night, with many vendors on both sides of the road still open when participants passed by.
The streets of Thu Thiem urban area were lit up with LED lights carried by the 21 and 42-km runners.
Ba Son Bridge is one of the highlights of the race. The bridge is about 15m high, allowing runners to have breathtaking views of the city.
