Traveling from the heart of Binh Lieu District, Hoang moved 74 km to Dinh Lap District of Lang Son Province, another border province.
Hoang said, "Along the way, you can see ice adhering to the railings and on bare tree branches. As you move to higher points, the ice becomes thicker."

In Dinh Lap, Hoang trekked to a China border milestone numbered 1297 at more than 1,000 meters high to clearly feel the cold air. The ice on tree branches ranged from 3 to 5 centimeters thick, reaching almost 10 centimeters in certain spots.
Hoang said, "The ice on the reed grass tree stems looks like an ice cream. It's solid and doesn't appear to be melting anytime soon."

After taking photos in Cao Ly, Cuong proceeded to the China border milestone in Lang Son because he heard that the ice at the milestone was thicker and more beautiful.
"The ice in Cao Ly is thin and transparent, whereas the ice at the milestone is thicker and denser, just like a layer of snow preserved in a freezer for a long time," he said.

On his way to the milestone, Cuong encountered blooming peach blossoms. Their petals and pistils were covered in transparent ice, creating a harmonious blend of winter and spring.
