The 1995 McLaren F1 was once the crown jewel of Ellison’s collection, according to VIP Fortunes. Finished in Magnesium Silver with black interiors, the car carried chassis number 062 and was among the few units delivered to the U.S.

Ellison bought it in the mid-1990s when Oracle sponsored McLaren’s Formula 1 team. He owned it for more than a decade before selling it. Now with its fourth owner, the car is expected to fetch over US$23 million, Forbes reported.

Musk also bought a McLaren F1 for US$1 million after selling his first company Zip2, but later crashed it while showing it to PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel. Musk sold the car in 2007.

Ellison owns a white Lexus LFA and has been spotted driving it several times. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, he referred to it as his favorite “white Toyota.” Business Insider reported that Ellison was seen driving the LFA near Oracle’s headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2012.

Produced between 2010 and 2012, with only 500 units made, the LFA is one of the world’s most exclusive supercars. Powered by a 4.8L V10 engine producing 552 horsepower, the car accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. At launch, it was priced at about US$375,000.

Ellison has also been seen driving a silver Audi R8 on his way to the gym, according to Gawkerarchives. It is unclear if he still owns the car.

Named after Audi’s champion race car R8 LMP, the model debuted in 2006 with a starting price of $118,000. It came equipped with a 4.2L V8 engine producing 417 horsepower and could accelerate from 0–100 km/h in about 4.4 seconds, Top Speed reported.

Ellison became attached to the Acura NSX after repeated reliability issues with his Ferrari Testarossa. The Testarossa’s flaws led him to test drive an Acura, and he quickly fell in love with the NSX, Supercar Blondie reported.

He reportedly purchased as many as seven NSXs, often gifting them to Oracle employees and friends. Among his favorites was the 1996 NSX-T, featuring a 3.0L V6 engine producing 270 horsepower, later upgraded to 290 horsepower. The model’s starting price was about $71,000.

Ellison also owned a silver Lexus LS 600h L. Though rarely photographed behind the wheel, the car was seen in his private parking area at Oracle’s headquarters in Austin, Texas, according to car dealer Lexus of Henderson.

Ellison commissioned a custom Shelby Cobra through Kirkham Motorsports after befriending David Kirkham.

The car’s body panels were hand-built in a former airplane factory in Poland using traditional panel-beating techniques. Each panel was gas-welded and hand-filed to ensure smooth seams, creating a polished aluminum exterior distinct from standard chrome finishes, Ford Muscle reported.

In October 2022, Ellison was pulled over while driving his orange Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray Convertible on Lanai, the Hawaiian island where he owns nearly 98%, Business Insider reported. He was cited for running a stop sign and speeding. Ellison apologized to the officer, saying he was hurrying home to have dinner with his children, but admitted: “But there's no excuse. There’s no good excuse.”

Ellison’s first Ferrari was a red Testarossa in the 1990s. Although iconic, the car repeatedly caught fire, causing significant frustration. The experience ultimately drove him to the Acura NSX, which became one of his most favored models, VIP Fortunes noted.

On Sept. 10, Oracle’s stock price surged by more than a third at market open, pushing Ellison past Musk. However, the Tesla CEO regained the top spot by the end of the day, with Bloomberg valuing Musk at $384.2 billion and Ellison at $383.2 billion.
