Chen was born in 1999 in China. She plays as an outside hitter for Vietnamese club Binh Dien Long An in the international women's volleyball tournament VTV9 - Binh Dien, which ended in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on Sunday.
Previously, she played for Long An in the first round of the 2024 Vietnam national volleyball championship and won the 2024 Hung Vuong Cup with the club.
"I agreed to continue playing for Long An in this tournament because I got to be the teammate of Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (R), a player I know a lot about and a great talent of Vietnamese volleyball," Chen said.
After Thanh Thuy was declared injured for the semifinals and third-place playoff, the 25-year-old became a scoring machine for Long An.
After five matches at the tournament, Chen (L) scored 116 points and became the top scorer of Long An, helping the team finish fourth overall.
Chen’s impressive performance helped her win the award for best foreign outside hitter of the tournament, alongside Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, who was voted as best outside hitter.
Chen is enthusiastic and strong in competition. In real life and during practice, the Chinese player always stays positive and caring.
One of Chen's funny moments is when she tried to be a photographer for the team during a training session.
