The severe weather conditions have also affected train services on the crucial north-south rail link. Multiple sections of the line remain inaccessible due to flooding and landslides.

This train running between Hanoi and Da Nang was forced to stop as floodwaters buried the rail track. The train had to be pulled back to Le Son Station, waiting for the water to recede.

As of Saturday morning, the severe floods have killed five people; four are missing, 12 injured and over 30,000 houses are submerged.

The National Hydrometeorology Center said heavy rains over the next few days will increase the risk of landslides in the mountainous areas. Flooding will continue in the provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.
