The VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight, the first night race held in the Vietnamese capital, has become a key annual event for the city’s running community over four editions. This race offers participants the opportunity to experience Hanoi at night, where the glow of lights, historic landmarks, and the rhythmic sound of footsteps come together in harmony.
Trang Tien Street, with its French colonial architecture, turns pink as thousands of runners fill the area.
The Hanoi People’s Committee headquarters is brightly lit, with yellow light reflecting off nearby trees as runners pass by.
Hoan Kiem Lake, a beloved training spot for Hanoi's running community, sparkles under the night sky. Runners passed by iconic landmarks such as Turtle Tower, Ngoc Son Temple, and The Huc Bridge in this area.
The Long Bien Bridge looms in the mist, a silent witness to history. As runners crossed, their steps seemed to breathe new life into the century-old structure.
Phan Dinh Phung Street glows softly in yellow from street lamps, its ancient trees lining the lively road as runners pass. The street’s timeless charm fused seamlessly with the energy of the race.
At O Quan Chuong Gate, golden lights illuminate the historic structure as athletes run through. Amid the modernity of the city, the gate stands as a reminder of Hanoi’s thousand-year history.
Across from the Mausoleum stands the National Assembly Building, where modern architecture and lighting combine, creating a perfect backdrop for night photography.
Ly Thai To Garden near Hoan Kiem Lake radiates a quiet glow throughout the night, adding to the unique atmosphere of the race and standing as a cultural symbol of Hanoi.
At the Vinh Tuy Bridge roundabout, glowing in golden light, the bridge seems like a silk ribbon beside the Red River, with runners flowing through one after another.
On the bridge, city lights reflect on the water, and runners continue toward Long Bien with quiet focus, their breaths merging with the night air of the capital.
