This is the third time Vietnam conceded a late goal from Iraq. At another World Cup qualifier in 2015, Iraq scored an equalizer in the 90 minute. They also scored in the 90 minute of an Asian Cup 2019 group stage game to secure a 3-2 victory against Vietnam.
