The Tuan Duong Beauty Academy salon on De La Thanh Street is even organizing a contest for people getting these haircuts, with the grand prize being free hairdressing for three years.
Tuan Duong, its owner, said Tuesday the idea struck him after hearing about the second Trump-Kim summit to take place on February 27 and 28 in the Vietnamese capital.
In just two days after he made the offer, on February 18 and 19, his shop has already received 200 customers coming for free haircuts, he said.
The offer is available until February 28, when the summit ends.
"Most of the customers choose Kim Jong-un’s hairstyle because it suits young people with short hair," Duong said.
"I want to offer this service to the peace-loving people of Hanoi and Vietnam in general."
This is not the first time a Vietnamese business has taken advantage of world leaders coming to the country to advertise their brands. When former U.S. President Barack Obama made an official visit to Vietnam in 2016, shops in Hanoi and HCMC had used his images for a little PR boost by making banners or posters featuring the former President.
