The 32-year-old prince, dubbed one of the most "eligible bachelors" in Asia, will tie the knot with his fiancée in a 10-day royal wedding ceremony starting from January 7, 2024, reported The Straits Times.

According to The Independent, the Islamic ceremony to solemnize the couple’s marriage will take place on January 11, while the wedding reception and the couple’s parade around Brunei’s capital Bandar Seri Begawan are set to be held on January 14. A banquet will be organized on January 15 to mark the end of the festivities.

Sources said the prince’s fiancée Anisha Rosnah is the granddaughter of the special advisor of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the prince’s father.

Graduating from a renowned university in England, she owns a fashion brand and co-owns a tourism company with one of her close friends, according to the Singaporean news site 8days.

The couple has been seen publicly on many occasions, including at the wedding of Princess Azemah, Prince Mateen’s older sister, last year.

Prince Mateen is the 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and is sixth in line to the throne.

A trained helicopter pilot, he serves as a major in the Royal Brunei Air Force. He has also represented his country in polo in the 2017 and 2019 SEA Games.

He was named one of Asia’s 50 most eligible bachelors in 2016 by Tatler Magazine.
