Singapore ranked second with 1.32 million Australians, followed by Thailand with over 700,000 and Vietnam with 490,000, according to data from tourism ministries across the region.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Indonesia emerged as the leading destination for Australian travelers last year, with 86% of Australians opting for short vacations there.
Bali, which was recently voted Asia's most beautiful island, saw a notable increase in foreign visitors, welcoming 6.3 million tourists, a 19.5% rise compared to the previous year and exceeding pre-pandemic levels.
Australian tourists were among the largest groups of international arrivals to the island.
Contributing factors to this surge include affordable costs, convenient flight connections, and Bali's pristine beaches, as reported by local tourism authorities.
