VnExpress has launched the Vietnam Vibes photo and short video contest, inviting readers to look back on the nation’s remarkable journey and share their love and pride for Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th National Day.

Over the past eight decades, Vietnam has undergone profound changes, from the struggle for independence to periods of innovation and global integration. Each chapter is marked by the resilience and spirit of the Vietnamese people.

With the aim of reflecting on this journey through individual perspectives, VnExpress invites all Vietnamese citizens, at home and abroad, as well as international friends, to participate in the Vietnam Vibes Contest. Every submitted photo and video will contribute to a vibrant mosaic capturing 80 years of history and enduring patriotism.

Quality requirements

Vietnam Vibes features two categories: photo and video. Photo entries must be in digital format (PNG or JPG), with a minimum dimension of 3,000 pixels on the shortest side and a minimum file size of 2 MB. Photos must be realistic, with no cropping, addition, removal, or distortion of content. Images must not have borders, watermarks, names, or captions directly on the photo. Each photo entry must include a complete caption.

For videos, entries must be vertical, under 1 minute 30 seconds in length, in MP4 format, with Full HD quality or higher, and a maximum file size of 200 MB. Videos can be recorded on any device, as long as they meet the technical requirements.

All entries must be original and align with the contest’s message and theme. Contestants must own the copyright. Submissions using unpermitted images, sounds, or dialogue from other sources will not be accepted. If people appear in an entry, their consent (or that of their legal guardian) is required.

Each contestant may submit only one entry per category. Author names will be taken from official ID or passport information. Entries must not contain advertising elements.

The Vietnam Vibes contest is open for entries from July 23 to Aug. 23, with online voting held on the official fanpage. On Aug. 25, the organizers will announce the finalists, jury, and prize details, with the final round and awards running from Aug. 25 to 29. The award ceremony is set for the first week of September at VnExpress office.
