Vietjet welcomes passengers on flights to Melbourne, Sydney

Vietjet Air held a series of activities in Melbourne and Sydney on Thursday to welcome passengers on its direct flights connecting Australia's largest cities with Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony in Melbourne, Vietjet Chief Operations Officer Michael Hickey thanked the support of passengers, governments of the two countries, cities, airports and Australian partners who have cooperated to open the routes to Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

Governor-General of Australia David Hurley shared his congratulated about the new services connecting Australia and Vietnam during his recent visit to Vietnam, in particular about Vietjet's first service to Melbourne on April 8, followed by its direct flights to Sydney and Brisbane.

These new routes are expected to fulfill the demands of traveling for tourism, business and visiting relatives of a large number of customers.

To celebrate the new routes, Vietjet pilots and cabin crews gave passengers at Melbourne airport a flashmob performance.

Vietjet flights from Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City will depart on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Four return flights will be served every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Both routes take about 9 hours using modern wide-body aircraft A330.

After Melbourne, Vietjet opened routes connecting Sydney - Ho Chi Minh City on April 13. Three two-way flights per week are provided on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City; and Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney.

Vietjet now offers many flight routes throughout Vietnam and internationally to Australia, India, Japan, South Korea, China, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
