The ceremonies were held Saturday in Vietnam's largest island Phu Quoc and Finnish city Rovaniemi, respectively.
The WTA Asia & Oceania and WLHA handed out 21 awards to six luxuryhotels and resorts, two entertainment and resort complexes, and one transport infrastructure project, all of which were developed by Sun Group as part of its strategic vision to raise the country's profile by creating world class tourism products and delivering key infrastructure constructions.

Six hotels and resorts developed by Sun Group were honored: Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery in Sa Pa (Lao Cai); Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills; Premier Village Danang Resort; InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort (Da Nang); Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort; and JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort (Phu Quoc).
Hotel de la Coupole - MGallery, "a masterpiece of design from Bill Bensley", was named in many important categories: Vietnam's Leading Luxury Hotel 2019, Asia's Leading Hotel 2019, Asia's Leading New Hotel 2019, and Asia's Leading Design Hotel 2019 by WTA Asia & Oceania; Global Luxury Architecture Design Hotel by WLHA.
Located in the mountains of Sa Pa in northern Vietnam, the hotel resembles a luxurious European palace from the early 20th century. Offering a world-class experience, the hotel has made a major contribution to promoting tourism in Sa Pa in less than a year of operations.

Also designed by Bill Bensley, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay in Phu Quoc was honored by WTA Asia & Oceania 2019 with the titles of Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort and Spa and Vietnam's Leading Resort.
In winning these two awards, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, which has a design narrative developed around the concept of a mythical academy of learning, will continue elevating tourism on the southern island to new levels. It has a premier destination for elite travelers, Sun Group said in a release.
As the latest project to be developed by Sun Group on Phu Quoc Island, Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort nestles in a lush peninsula with beaches and sea views on all sides. Guests here can enjoy the unique experience of watching a stunning sunrise and sunset from the exact same spot.
Its location, design and services earned the resort Asia's Leading Villa Resort 2019 and Vietnam's Leading Villa Resort 2019 by WTA Asia & Oceania; and Asia Luxury Villa Resort by WLHA.
A perennial favorite at the WTA, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was honored in six categories this year: Vietnam's Leading Luxury Resort 2019, Asia's Leading Luxury Resort 2019, Asia's Leading Green Resort 2019, Asia's Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2019, Asia's Leading Luxury Wedding Resort 2019, and Asia's Leading Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant 2019 for La Maison 1888, the resort's signature restaurant.
Offering sublime relaxation facilities for families and friends, the Premier Village Danang Resort managed by Accor Hotels won the South East Asia Luxury Family Beach Resort at the WLHA ceremony. This award recognizes the resort as a top vacation choice in Da Nang. Each of its villas has a fully-equipped kitchen, private swimming pool, garden, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms to let guests immerse themselves in leisurely living.

Offering an authentic French experience on the top of the Ba Na Mountain and with magnificent views of Nui Chua (God's Mountain), Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills had been honored as the best Luxury Romantic Hotel by WLHA 2018. Being recognized as the region's leading Asia Luxury Honeymoon Hotel by WLHA 2019 is an acknowledgement of the resort's continued appeal.
Along with all of the awards for its hotels and resorts, two major tourism and entertainment complexes developed by Sun Group in Sa Pa and Da Nang – namely, Sun World Fansipan Legend and Sun World Ba Na Hills – were also honored as Vietnam's Leading Tourist Attraction 2019 and Vietnam's Leading Theme Park 2019 respectively by WTA Asia & Oceania.
WTA Asia & Oceaniaalso named the Van Don International Airport, developed by Sun Group in Quang Ninh Province, with a highly prestigious prize: Asia's Leading New Airport.
Receiving this award is an honor, not only for Sun Group and Quang Ninh Province, but also for the Vietnamese aviation industry as it is the first time a Vietnamese airport has won an award at WTA.
