Indonesia, the largest economy in Southeast Asia, welcomed 2.7 million foreign visitors in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 7.83% increase from the same period last year.

The average spending per foreign tourist during this period was US$1,277, reflecting a decline compared to both the fourth quarter and first quarter of last year, Jakarta Globe reported citing the Central Statistics Agency.

Foreign tourists stayed an average of 10.94 nights, it added.

The agency reported that the majority of international visitors arrived by air, followed by sea and land transport.

In March, however, foreign arrivals dropped by 2.18% compared to March 2024, totaling 841,030 visitors.

Indonesia aims to attract between 14.6 and 16 million international tourists in 2025, a slight increase from the 13.9 million visitors in 2024.
