Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel has launched its 2025 mooncake line, The Grand Opera Collection—a symphony of handcrafted culinary heritage, design-led packaging, and eight signature fillings, marking the return of the new hotel architectural icon.

The collection offers a first glimpse of the Grand Opera Tower, the new hotel architectural icon. The tower symbolizes the revival of a landmark integral to the hotel's 22-year history. Emphasizing narrative hospitality, it combines cultural design, sustainability, and personalized service. Drawing inspiration from the Saigon Opera House, it sets a new standard for luxury accommodation, capturing the sophisticated essence of Saigon.

More than a seasonal delicacy, the Grand Opera Collection is conceived as a grand performance of flavor—honoring over two decades of handcrafted mooncake artistry and reimagining it as an emotional, artful experience.

Each mooncake reflects meticulous craftsmanship by a team of more than 60 chefs, who spend months selecting premium ingredients, perfecting flavor balance, shaping every detail, and baking with traditional techniques passed down from the renowned Li Bai restaurant.

This year's collection presents eight signature flavors, led by the rich, savory mixed-nut filling, a complex blend of premium ingredients. A Li Bai signature, the XO scallop filling marries the delicate taste of dried scallops with the bold character of handcrafted XO sauce.

These are joined by six delicately sweet varieties: white lotus seed, pandan lotus seed, black sesame, cranberry, Longjing tea, and yuzu.

Beyond Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel's signature flavors, the collection comprises three specially designed gift boxes, each representing a distinct movement in the mooncake concerto, inspired by the lyrical tones of opera.

The Prelude box, a vertical design inspired by traditional lanterns, is dressed in Oxford blue. Laser-cut patterns echo grand theater arches. Designed for reuse, it doubles as a vanity case or keepsake drawer, blending elegance with environmental mindfulness.

Inspired by ballet, the Harmony box features a slender rectangular silhouette in luxurious Prussian blue. Crafted from PU leather and adorned with embossed lotus motifs, it evokes balance and refinement. Its clasp resembles the ornate door handles of private theater suites, a subtle nod to the grandeur of the opera house.Sheraton Saigons mooncake collection marking the return of iconic Grand Opera Tower - 2

Inspired by vintage travel trunks, the Grand Finale, dressed in midnight blue with refined leather accents, evokes a final bow in a moonlit musical theater. This box is crafted to endure as a collectible trunk that can be repurposed for travel mementos, fine teas, or heirloom keepsakes.

Since the early 2000s, Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel has championed handcrafted mooncakes. Behind each pastry is the dedication of long-serving chefs who have spent over 20 years refining their techniques. Leading the craft are Chef Diep Nhieu, who has devoted more than 20 years to Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel, and Li Bai's Chef Assistant. According to Chef Nhieu, each mooncake is a piece of art, infused with care from ingredient selection to the final bake. "From the stage-worthy creations to the thousands produced behind the scenes, they all reflect our unwavering passion and craftsmanship over the past two decades," he said.

Julian Wong, General Manager of Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel, notes that this collection is more than a tribute to reunion, it is an overture to a new chapter. "Through this collection, we offer the first glimpse of Grand Opera Tower, a symbol of refined luxury and elevated guest experiences that will redefine hospitality in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City."

Prices range from VND1.388 million (US$52.54) per box of four cakes to VND2.888 million (US$109.32) for the VVIP edition with six cakes and one tea. The mooncake booth will be open in the hotel lobby from Aug. 1 to Oct. 6, 2025.
