The Russian government has listed Vietnam among 48 countries and territories visitors from where are exempt from 14-day quarantine.

They must furnish a negative PCR test for Covid no older than 72 hours before arrival.

They are required to wear a mask in public, including on public transport and in malls.

Other Asian countries in this list include Singapore, South Korea and Japan.

Russia has reported over six million infections and 152,296 deaths.

The highly transmissible Delta variant has become the most prevalent in many countries including Vietnam, where most new cases are linked to it.

Several other countries have been banning and imposing stricter quarantine measures for travelers from Vietnam.

In three months into its fourth wave, the most challenging so far, Vietnam has recorded 83,191 cases.
