Italy-based Big Seven Travel includes Vietnam in a top 50 listing of travel destinations mentioned on photo sharing network Instagram.

In the global ranking of the world’s most Instagrammable countries compiled by the travel publication that targets mobile-using millennials, Vietnam is ranked 37th with a score of 76.32 percent.

The listing is based on a scoring system that analyzes the amount of hashtags per destination, survey results of readers and votes cast by a panel of travel experts.

The survey used in the listing also found a third of travelers choosing a holiday destination using just Instagram for inspiration, while 67 percent of respondents said they’ve visited a new destination after seeing it on Instagram.

Australia, with a score of 89.98 percent, was adjudged the most Instagrammable destination in the world, followed by Hong Kong, Canada and Indonesia.

Other Asian destinations getting global attention from Instagram users included Singapore (10th),Thailand (14th), Japan (15th), Malaysia (17th), China (31st) and Taiwan (34th).

The world famous Ha Long Bay made the top 15 Instagrammed global cruise destinations based on a survey of 1.8 million Instagram posts tagged on various ships and ports around the world by the travel cruise site SeaHub.

Vietnam has one of the fastest growing tourism markets in the world, drawing a record 15.5 million foreign arrivals last year, up 19.9 percent from the previous year. The country’s long coastline and beautiful beaches are certainly some of the main attractions.
