A 20-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha statue in the Mekong Delta has been recognized as one of the world's most impressive giant Buddha statues by British travel magazine Wanderlust.

The 250-ton statue is one of the most striking features of Vinh Trang Pagoda on Nguyen Trung Truc Street in My Tho City of Tien Giang Province.

The statue was constructed from reinforced concrete and inaugurated in 2010, standing as a symbol of happiness and prosperity in Buddhist teachings.

Vinh Trang Pagoda is one of the oldest temples in southern Vietnam, dating back to the mid-19th century.

The pagoda's architectural design blends elements of French, Roman, Khmer, Chinese, and Vietnamese styles.

In 1984, it was recognized as a National Historic Site by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vietnam.

Other remarkable Buddha statues featured in the Wanderlust list are located in Bhutan, mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand.
