Phu Quoc Island, voted the second most beautiful island in Asia last year by readers of American magazine Condé Nast Traveler, was named among top 10 holiday destinations by online magazine Smart Travel Asia.

The Vietnamese island ranked 8th on the list, according to the 2025 Best in Travel Poll, which ran from June to August.

Bangkok topped the list, followed by Bali and Tokyo at second position.

Phu Quoc received over 6 million visitors in the first eight months of this year, a 32.8% increase compared to the same period last year.

Tourism revenue from January to August increased by 90% year-on-year to VND28.2 trillion ($1.07 billion), according to a report from An Giang's Department of Tourism.

Vietnam's largest island, known for its long sandy beaches, upscale entertainment complexes, and ancient temples, has earned prestigious accolades from global travel publications.

Most recently, it ranked third on Travel + Leisure magazine's list of the 10 best islands in the Asia-Pacific region, trailing Bali and Koh Samui.

Last year, Phu Quoc was voted the second most beautiful island in Asia, after Bali of Indonesia, by readers of Condé Nast Traveler.
