Filipino authorities have arrested a man found clinging to the landing gear of a parked commercial aircraft at Ninoy Aquino International Airport's Terminal 1.

The man, whose identity remains unknown, was immediately detained and taken to Pasay General Hospital for medical and psychological evaluation on Monday, according to the Daily Tribune.

Authorities are still investigating how the man bypassed airport security.

The aircraft, which had arrived late the previous night, was undergoing routine maintenance checks before its scheduled flight when the man was discovered in naked condition, Mothership reported.

No passengers were on board, and the aircraft remained grounded while safety protocols were followed.

"I don't know how he got through, but airport authorities are investigating all possible routes including perimeter canals and maintenance access points," said Eric Jose Ines, General Manager of the Manila International Airport Authority, as cited by the Daily Tribune.

Initial investigation revealed the man may have entered through one of the drainage canals surrounding the runway, as he was covered in mud when found.
