Konopka was diagnosed with pneumonia and severe liver damage in December last year, and she tragically died in March, The Independent reported this week.
Her boyfriend, Fernando, who co-managed their travel account Happiness Crossing, shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional post: "She always loved connecting with you all, and her love for the Philippines was beyond words. Once again, I can only ask for your prayers so that God may bring comfort to the hearts of her loved ones. I trust in Him, I know He is with Vanessa, and I know God is always with us."
Many fans expressed their condolences in the comments of Fernando's post.
"Oh my God... this is so heartbreaking and shocking. Konopka, you are so loved by Filipinos, and your beautiful soul was taken too soon. My deepest condolences to the whole family," one wrote.
"My sincere condolences to Fernando and to Konopka's family. I was a huge fan, and this is devastating. My prayers are with her soul, may she rest in peace," another added.

They often shared their travel experiences, particularly showcasing some of the best spots on Boracay in the Philippines, which was named "Asia's Leading Beach Destination" at the 2024 World Travel Awards.
