Chi Pu announced on May 13 that her second restaurant, which opened in February this year, had topped the platform's ranking on Dianping, one of China's leading services for food, entertainment, and travel reviews and bookings.
Despite being a newcomer, La Ganh 2.0 outperformed well-known Vietnamese dining spots in Shanghai such as Saigon Bistrot, Pho VieThin, and +Pink.
The restaurant scored a popularity index of 96.07, edging out the second-place restaurant, which scored 95.8.
La Ganh 2.0 offers a fusion of Vietnamese cuisine and Izakaya-style dining—a Japanese concept that combines the casual ambiance of a pub with full restaurant service. Its sleek, modern interior adds to the overall dining experience.
In addition to pho, the menu highlights several signature dishes such as butter-grilled banh mi, papaya salad with dried beef and shrimp crackers, spicy rib soup, and chicken soup with star fruit and clams.
According to EuroCost International's cost of living index, Shanghai, famous for its towering skyline, ranked 23rd among the world's 30 most expensive cities last year.
