A recent report from online travel platform Agoda revealed that 86% of surveyed Filipino tourists are concerned about sustainable tourism in 2025, the highest rate in Asia.

Indian tourists ranked second with 82%, followed by Taiwanese and Malaysians at 80%, according to Agoda's survey of 6,000 respondents across 11 Asian destinations.

In Vietnam, 77% of respondents expressed interest in sustainable travel, exceeding the regional average of 68%.

To minimize their environmental impact, 22% of Vietnamese tourists opt to travel during the low season to reduce overcrowding, 21% choose eco-certified accommodations, and 15% bring reusable items such as water bottles and cloth bags to cut down on waste, Agoda reported.

Sustainable travel has become a key priority in the tourism industry in recent years.

Many destinations across Asia have introduced measures such as restricting single-use plastics, banning plastic bags, and promoting eco-friendly products to encourage more responsible tourism.
