Asia's most loved country eyes 4.3 million Indonesian tourists this year

Malaysia, named Asia's most loved country, expects to attract 4.3 million Indonesian visitors this year, a 18% year-on-year growth, driven by strong regional travel demand and increased air services.

As of February this year, over 770,000 Indonesians had already visited Malaysia, a nearly 15% increase versus the same period in 2024, Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin said as cited by Malay Mail.

Direct air services between the two countries are at an all-time high, with 591 flights each week, making Malaysia more accessible than ever to Indonesian travelers, Bernama reported.

Last year, Indonesia was the second largest source of visitors to Malaysia with 3.65 million.

Malaysia, named Asia's most loved country in 2024 by the American finance website Insider Monkey, welcomed 6.7 million foreign tourists in the first two months of this year, marking a 31.3% year-on-year increase.
