Two more passengers involved in a deadly passenger bus and tractor collision in the central province of Quang Nam on Tuesday have died in hospital, raising the number of deaths in the accident to 10.

Nguyen Que, 87, and Dinh Tam, 40, both from Quang Ngai Province that borders Quang Nam, sustained multiple injuries, especially in the skull. As their conditions deteriorated, their families requested for them to be discharged and die at home Tuesday night, said Nguyen Dinh Hung, deputy director of the Quang Nam Central General Hospital.

11 other passengers injured in the accident are still being treated in the hospital, Hung added.

Early on Tuesday morning, a Ford Transit bus carrying 21 people collided with a tractor at an intersection of Vo Chi Cong Street and a road leading towards Tam Hiep Port. The collision flipped the bus over and six people including the bus driver were killed on the spot, while two passengers died shortly after being rushed to hospital.

Authorities said the bus was speeding when it collided with the truck.

An investigation is ongoing.
