Vietnam's digital technology revenue jumps 26% in 2025

Vietnam’s digital technology industry is expected to generate total revenue of US$198 billion in 2025, up 26% from the previous year, according to reports presented at a recent conference hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Hardware and electronics exports are forecast to reach $178 billion this year, up 35% year-on-year and exceeding the annual target by 12%, reinforcing the sector’s role as one of the country’s key export drivers.

The number of active digital technology firms is estimated at 80,052, marking a 10% annual rise.

The industry profits this year are projected to surpass VND371 billion ($14.1 million).

In the information technology sector, semiconductor development was identified as a key national priority.

The systematic rollout of the Strategy for Vietnam’s Semiconductor Industry Development to 2030, with a vision to 2050, together with the issuance of organizational regulations and the establishment of the National Center for Semiconductor Chip Prototyping Support, was highlighted as an important step in strengthening domestic technological capacity and supporting local enterprises.
