Speaking at a Porsche event in Dubai, Moser, who oversees the Porsche 718 and 911 lines, told Australian reporters that he had driven the Ioniq 5 N "several times" and "learned a lot" from it.
"They made it really, really good," he said.
Moser also mentioned that Andreas Preuninger, the head of Porsche's GT and RS lines, joined him for the test drive and was equally impressed by the South Korean electric vehicle, despite initial reservations, as reported by Car and Driver.
The Ioniq 5 N delivers 478 kW and 770 Nm combined in N Grin Boost mode. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 258 km/h, according to Drive.
One feature that stood out to Moser was Hyundai’s N e-shift and N Active Sound+ systems, which replicate the snap of a dual-clutch gearbox and offer a selection of digital engine noises.
These features have led the German luxury car maker to consider incorporating similar systems into its upcoming electric 718 sports car, according to Carscoops.
Moser said that future electric vehicles will adopt such features, allowing drivers to choose between cruising in silence or enjoying the virtual gearshift sounds.
