A spokeswoman for Andrew told People magazine that he and Kristin "were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert."
"Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening," the spokeswoman added. "Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued. No further public comment will be made."
Andrew, 61, is CEO of Privateer Rum, a Massachusetts-based spirits company. He and Kristin shared a Rye, New Hampshire, address as of 2023, according to the New York Post.
Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail showed Kristin filed for divorce on Aug. 13.

Andrew’s second ex-wife, Julia Cabot, who was married to him for four years before their 2018 split, also told the Daily Mail that he had confirmed the separation before the Coldplay incident.
"I texted Andrew right after [the kiss-cam scandal] happened, and he said: ‘Her life is nothing to do with me,’ and said they were separating," Julia said.
Kristin was working as Astronomer’s chief people officer when she and Byron were caught hugging affectionately on camera at the July concert, Page Six reported. Their awkward reaction, she turned her back and he ducked out of sight, prompted Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to joke that "either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy."
Neither Kristin nor Byron has publicly addressed the nature of their relationship. Both left Astronomer following the controversy.
