Byron was seen with his arm around Cabot, their fingers intertwined, when they suddenly realized they were being broadcast on the giant screen at Wednesday night's gig in Boston, Massachusetts.
Cabot quickly turned away and covered her face, while Byron ducked out of view. Their reaction drew attention from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, according to the Daily Mail.
'Oh look at these two!' the singer said as they spun around. 'Oh what? Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy.'
Public records show that both Byron, 50, and Cabot, 56, are married, but listed at different addresses from their respective spouses. The clip quickly exploded online, amassing nearly six million views on TikTok and prompting a flurry of speculation.
Newsweek reached out to Astronomer, Andrew Byron, and his wife Megan Kerrigan Byron for comment, but had not received a response as of Thursday.
Astronomer, a private data infrastructure startup that achieved "unicorn" status in 2022 with a $1 billion or more valuation, recently relocated its headquarters to New York City as part of its growth strategy.
Byron took over as CEO in July 2023, while Cabot became chief human resources officer in November 2024. Posts referencing their roles have since been removed from their LinkedIn profiles.
In a statement released on Friday, Astronomer said it had placed CEO Byron on leave, CNN reported. The company’s cofounder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy has now become the interim CEO.
